Few instruments are as instantly rewarding as the guitar. From their first chords, students are playing music they recognise, and that momentum keeps them coming back. Lessons cover chords, strumming, picking, reading and rhythm, all building real technique while keeping it genuinely fun.

Whether your child dreams of strumming around a campfire, fingerpicking classical pieces or shredding their frets in a stadium, lessons are shaped around their taste and goals. Acoustic or electric, complete beginner or self-taught improver, there’s a path here for them.

Guitar students at CBY have a range of opportunities throughout the school year.

Exams

We offer the exam curricula of Conservatory Canada, RCM and RSL, so students can work toward a recognised qualification in the style that suits them. Conservatory Canada and RSL are our contemporary streams, ideal for piano students who love pop, rock, soul, jazz and more, while the RCM is our classical curriculum.

🎓 98% of our exam-track students earn a First Class with Honours (80% or higher).

🏅 Several CBY students have won the Conservatory Canada “Medal of Excellence,” awarded for the highest exam grades in Ontario at their level.

Concerts

Every CBY student is invited to perform for family and friends at our two biggest events of the year, the Winter Concert in December and the End of Year Concert in June. It’s a chance to showcase what they’ve learned and celebrate together.
