Overview
What they’ll learn
The flute is light, elegant and surprisingly quick to reward, which makes it a lovely introduction to the world of wind instruments. Students learn breath control, posture, tone production and reading music, developing a beautiful sound and a keen ear for melody.
Lessons are patient and tailored to each player, from first notes and simple tunes to fuller pieces and ensemble playing. Along the way, students build the focus and musicianship that serve them in bands, orchestras and every kind of music-making.

Flute students at CBY have a range of opportunities throughout the school year.
Exams
We offer the exam curricula of the RCM and Conservatory Canada, so students can work toward a recognised qualification in the style that suits them.
🎓 98% of our exam-track students earn a First Class with Honours (80% or higher).
🏅 Several CBY students have won the Conservatory Canada “Medal of Excellence,” awarded for the highest exam grades in Ontario at their level.
Concerts
Every CBY student is invited to perform for family and friends at our two biggest events of the year, the Winter Concert in December and the End of Year Concert in June. It’s a chance to showcase what they’ve learned and celebrate together.

Every lesson is one-to-one and runs for 30 mins each week. Pick your preferred night below and we’ll show the monthly tuition for that day.
